When The World Doesn't Care

When The World Doesn't Care

“The world doesn’t care.” This was something my mother used to tell me as a child. I remember when I was growing up, like any other innocent child, I thought that there were more people in the world who cared for one another; that people would look lift each other up and appreciate one another.

As I got older, I began to truly become aware of what my mother was talking about. I was beginning to see that people talked out of both sides of their mouths; people were looking to just use and stomp others for their own gain. Greed was something played a huge role in people’s motivations.

I’ve met slews of people throughout my life who claim that God is at the center of their lives. I’ve met many people who appeared humble and giving. But over time, God reveals people’s true nature. All around me, I’ve been seeing people, “thanking” God, yet not living in a godly manner. Believe it or not, my soul is saddened by this. There are so many false prophets who are out there telling people what they want to hear; that it’s ok to do what isn’t right, but “God know your heart.” These people are able to steer other people away from the true purpose that God has for them. But we all have to just pay attention. God is there, but there are lots of people who refuse to truly see.

In the Bible, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 says, “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”

Also, 1 John 2:15 says, “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

So the warnings are all there. As a child of God, I pray that we all remain steady in His Word. Remember that God is the source of everything we have, even the air we breath. We must keep our focus on Him and only then will the true blessings come. At the end of the day, when we leave this world, all the money and material things will not be there. Yes, enjoy the blessings that God has given us. But remember that the ultimate goal is to meet Him in Heaven and living an everlasting life. As Children of God, we may be in this world but we are certainly not of it!

So Remember to Always Pray and Keep Pushing!
